Pika for Mac

This release is all about how Pika's window behaves. You can now control the window's shadow — keep it, hide it only while picking, or turn it off entirely so it can't bleed into the colours you pick nearby — and Pika can shrink far smaller than before, adapting what it shows as it gets compact.

New features

• Window shadow control — A new Window Settings option to show the shadow, hide it only while picking, or hide it entirely, so it can't skew colours picked near the window. When set to hide while picking, the shadow smoothly fades out as you pick and back when you're done, and softens when the window isn't focused. When off, a subtle hairline border keeps the window edge defined.
• Adaptive window sizing — Pika now shrinks much smaller and gracefully sheds elements as it gets compact (palettes, contrast, colour preview, labels), with a floating Expand to fit button to bring everything back.

Updates and bug fixes

• Two-line colour values — Long values now scale down smoothly to stay on two lines as the window narrows.
• Clearer, steadier footer — Shortened contrast labels keep the footer compact; it keeps the contrast ratio visible at narrow widths and tucks away just the compliance badges.
• Light mode polish — More defined footer and palette panels, consistent section dividers, and general light-mode refinements.
• Fully localised — The new window-shadow settings and shortened contrast labels are translated across German, Spanish, French, Croatian, Japanese, Polish, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
• Fixed — The window outline and shadow no longer stretch and detach from the window when you drag Pika to the top of the screen.
• Fixed — The Preferences header animation no longer disappears when changing a dropdown.
• Fixed — Truncated labels in the Preferences compliance previews.
